Apple Watch setup and sync

With version 1.2 or later installed on both devices, open Hypertrophy on your paired iPhone and Watch once to finish setup. Your routines then appear on the Watch. Start, log, or finish a workout on either device.

If a change has not arrived, open both apps together again. Keep the iPhone app and its workout history; do not delete it to troubleshoot sync. Optional set ratings are in iPhone Settings → Workouts → Rate Each Set.

Apple Health permissions

Enable Health in Hypertrophy Settings to save workouts. Bodyweight and recovery features need permission to read their relevant Health data.

Review Hypertrophy’s permissions in Apple Health or your device privacy settings. Missing recovery readings can also mean there is not enough recent Health data.

Restore Hypertrophy+

Use the Apple Account that made the purchase, then open Hypertrophy Settings and choose Restore Purchases. If the store cannot connect, try again when you are online.

Hypertrophy+ is now a one-time purchase with no subscription. Verified past monthly or annual subscribers keep Plus permanently. For a billing or refund request, use Apple’s purchase support.

Back up or move your log

Open Settings → Workout Data → Export Backup and save the file somewhere safe. Use Restore Backup to import it. Review the import preview first; existing data is kept.

Export Sets as CSV is for spreadsheets. Use the backup file when you want to restore your log.

Timers and reminders

Check Hypertrophy’s notification permission in your device settings. Training reminders, the weekly summary, and morning recovery notices are optional controls in the app’s Settings. Focus modes can silence alerts.

Privacy and deleting data

Your training log stays on your devices. Health access is optional, and there is no Hypertrophy account. Health entries, exports, and data on another device need to be managed separately.

Read the privacy policy for permissions, backups, retention, and contact details.
